From the last moment:
In the last year I have been busy setting up a studio with my friends, which spark ed a lot of question of how my practice can apply to collaboration.
The most noticable change was how I think of the notion of social responsibility within our work.
Reverting to recognising the importance of the aesthetics of the collective engagement. For instance the first edition of the “Het or( )de” magazine, that collectively questions the obstacles of reaching the common ground.
Next , 2024
For around a year now I have been inspired by the phenomena provoked by the meeting points between architecture and landscapes, the influence of a horizon on the daily habits of people.
2022
Material defines the playground for my ideas, what follows is complexity that sprouts from a basic origin.
- wood, metal, video, emotion...
Whatever I choose, it is for me to think about its meaning - a meaning that I like to flip on its head, so to observe it from a new perspective, as if I would see it for the first time.
To expand my understanding of a subject, I investigate what traces it leaves in related disciplines. For instance I studied performance art, musicology and electronics to gain a fresh look on the possible meaning of clay.
My moments of focus are not defined by a conclusive image. Neither is my process, an initial idea naturally transforms into a uneasy state of flux that opens doors for further development.
